You approve every repair after diagnosis, before any work starts. If the board can't be fixed, the diagnosis fee is all you ever pay — and if the goal is your files rather than the phone, ask about data recovery instead.

Is board repair safe for my data?
Yes — the goal of board repair is to revive the phone with its storage untouched. Your data stays on the phone, encrypted, exactly where it was.
Is it worth it, or should I just buy a new phone?
We'll tell you honestly at diagnosis. A $99 IC replacement on a phone worth $400 is worth it; the same repair on a phone worth $80 usually isn't — unless it's the photos you're after, which changes the math entirely.
